Things To Do
Kayaking
Resurrection Bay offers world-class kayaking, with stunning views just waiting to be explored. Launch from Granite Point’s private beach and paddle north to Thumb Cove or south to Humpy Cove and Fox Island. Along Alaska’s rugged coastline, you’ll encounter incredible intertidal life, from sea stars and blue mussels to sea urchins and kelp forests.
Keep an eye out for local marine wildlife, including harbor seals, sea otters, Steller sea lions, orcas, humpback whales, and porpoises. Kayaks are included with your cabin rental, and our caretaker is ready to help you prepare for your perfect adventure.
Hiking
Looking for another adventure? Our hiking trail begins just behind the Mountain Lodge, winding past the Wolf Ridge cabin and into a lush hemlock forest.
The trail is steep and rugged, but clearly marked, leading you past mountain streams and fern-filled canyons before opening into a rocky mountain bowl. This is where the marked trail ends—but the exploring doesn’t have to. From here, you can scramble up to the ridge for one of the best views in the area, with sweeping vistas of Resurrection Bay and a bird’s-eye look at Thumb Cove, Humpy Cove, and, on a clear day, the distant Chiswell Islands and the Gulf of Alaska.
